Hello dearest readers,

Nyamachi here! Goodness, has it been a long time! I hope all of you are keeping well, staying healthy, and enjoying life :3 It’s summer so channel your inner cat and bathe in the sun~

Recently, a few concerned readers have kindly checked in with questions about our projects, so I thought that it might help to give you all a proper update. Below are answers to questions I imagine most of you might have. Feel free to add any I missed in the comments!

Q. Have you dropped your projects, Why Harem Intrigue and Held in the Lonely Castle? 

No. Even though we haven’t posted very often this year, we have, in fact, continued to translate behind the scenes. The team just started translating WHI Chapter 85 (the last chapter in the main story!) and is partway through translating HLC Chapter 4 Part 2. 

Q. Why are your updates so slow?!?!

As you might know from previous posts, the team has been busier irl over the last year, leaving less time for translating. There have been a lot of transitions between work and school, moving residences, and adjusting to new schedules and lifestyles.

Personally, I was feeling very burnt out since the end of 2022 because of work. I had hoped that my own busy period would end in early Jan 2023 and I was sorely mistaken. Sigh~

A job change and some restful months later, I’m finally feeling up to getting back into translating again (hence this post). Thank you all again for your patience, support, and encouragement between updates. Re-reading past comments really brightened my day in those harder months. Even if I didn’t always have the energy to reply, I read every single one. Thank you for showing our projects love and supporting our smol TL team.

Q. When will you post the next update???

I aim to post the next chapters of WHI and HLC towards the end of August once I return from my travels. Starting September, we will be resuming our monthly TL goal posts again. As a team, we hope to finish translating (and posting) the rest of the WHI chapters by the end of 2023.

/ᐠ. ｡.ᐟ\ᵐᵉᵒʷˎˊ˗ WHI Readers: Please let us know in the comments if you’d prefer to wait for us to post two bulk releases – 1) all chapters until the end of the main story 2) all side stories, or if you’d like us to post chapters as we complete them.

Q. WHI is nearing its end. What are your plans for future projects?

After finishing WHI, I plan to focus on only translating HLC for a while. As we keep discovering as a team, the Mi Lan Lady was truly masterful in her weaving of the story. This novel is more of a challenge to translate for its literary difficulty but it never fails to deliver tragically beautiful, well-thought-out scenes. We always appreciate your feedback on our translations.  

As for Tygris, they plan to pick up another historical romance series. Stay tuned~
