July 2025 Translation Status: Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace

Dear Readers,

We’d like to share an unexpected development regarding our translation of Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace. It has come to our attention that another group/translator has begun releasing their own version of the translation as of yesterday, and is also linked on NovelUpdates.

We value the time, care, and community support that goes into our projects, so this situation has been somewhat disappointing. We have reached out to the other group/translator on July 15th, 2025, to clarify things and hopefully coordinate a respectful path forward.

For now, please know that our commitment to delivering high-quality and thoughtful translations remains unchanged. We’ll keep you updated on this page as things evolve, and as always, we thank you for your continued support.

July 16, 2025: Got no response after ~36 hours, so DM’d them on another platform.

July 19, 2025: Still no response after a few days, so making one last effort to reach out to them. Have commented on one of their public profiles.

July 19, 2025 3:08AM ET: They responded within less than half an hour after I made the public post/comments. They also removed my comments from their profile. But they responded! Progress?

July 21, 10PM ET / Final Update: So, since the last update and some discussion, we have stopped receiving responses. For transparency, we will include the conversation here:

Given these circumstances, and since there is now an alternate translation available (so the plot is out there for those who want the story ASAP!), we’ve decided to deprioritize our translation of Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace. We’ll be shifting our main focus instead to a brand new, never-before-translated novel. (Keep an eye out for our new project launching August 2025!)

So, what does this mean for our translation of Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace? It’s not abandoned, but we won’t have a monthly goal or a set schedule, and it’s no longer one of our top priorities. Please expect more sporadic updates for Ruyi going forward. Our goal with this project now is to primarily offer our high-quality translations with those deeper cultural explanations and explanatory footnotes you’ve come to expect, as chapters/parts are ready.

If you are eager to follow the plot of Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace at a faster pace, we encourage you to explore any other available translation or even use machine translation on the raws. For those who prioritize a high-quality, meticulously translated reading experience, we invite you to return to Nyanovels as our chapters are released. As always, we are committed to maintaining the standard of translation you’ve come to expect from us.

Thank you for sticking with us over the last year and a half of translating this project, and we hope for your understanding and continued support!

  • I’ve seen theirs and yours is more detailed and closer to the original both in spirit and in terms of retaining the nuances of Chinese culture. Which means it takes longer to translate.

I think the other team had their version on wattpad but it got deleted for some reason so they’re migrating elsewhere. Don’t know how far into the story they’ve gone. Regardless, would be a real shame if this were to make you stop your stellar work.

    • Thank you so much, Emmanuel, for your kind words—they truly mean a lot. We’ve always tried to bring out the heart and cultural depth of the original story, and it’s incredibly meaningful to hear that effort resonates ❤️

We’re currently exploring the best path forward. Our goal is to ensure readers have access to both high-quality translations and a wide selection of translated works. Whether that means continuing our efforts or redirecting our energy elsewhere, we hope it contributes to a richer reading experience for everyone.

Your support reminds us why we started the translation webpage/projects in the first place. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!

  • It’s a shame that things unfolded this way. Not very ethical of them nor professional, especially when I read that they overwrote the NovelUpdates summary. Their translation is, to put it nicely, less engaging.

    • We appreciate you sharing your thoughts, Henry, and for your support! It is indeed unfortunate when situations like this arise in the community. Our primary focus, as always, is to deliver the best possible reading experience for our community.

  • Hello! I’m sorry I don’t understand why this incident will de-prioritize this novel’s translation? Your translation is top notch and honestly one of the best if not the best of translations I’ve read so far, Ruyi’s Royal love is also really famous and for us non Chinese readers to find such a gem of a meticulous translation is a blessing I think if this novel is still one of your team’s top priority it would invite alot of regular readers to this amazing website, I’m anticipating other novel translations but honestly and I’m not demanding but my interest goes first to this novel and I really hope the schedule won’t be affected by the other website’s unprofessional handling. I wish you Tygris and all of your lovely team great luck and prosperity!

    • Terima kasih banyak loh, aku gak bisa Bahasa Cina bisa baca novel Ruyi berkat kalian. (Yah walau Bahasa Inggrisku juga gak lancar-lancar banget, setidaknya mudah dimengerti). Untuk kedepannya semoga selalu beruntung….

    • Hi Rouuulaann! Thank you for your incredibly kind words and your support for our translation of Ruyi’s Royal Love. Hearing that our translation is considered “top-notch” and a “blessing” truly means the world to our team.

We completely understand your interest and hope that the translation progress for Ruyi won’t be affected. Our decision to adjust its priority was not made lightly.

Given our team’s very limited resources and the fact that the plot is now accessible elsewhere, we felt it was the best path forward to ensure we can both continue to deliver the high-quality, meticulous translations you love for Ruyi (even if slower and more sporadically) and simultaneously bring entirely new stories to our readers that haven’t been translated before. Our goal is to expand the overall library of CN->EN novel translations while maintaining our commitment to quality across all projects.

Please rest assured, Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace remains a beloved project for us and is absolutely not abandoned. In fact, the 5 parts comprising chapter 12 will be posted on time over the following weeks. We are committed to continuing our work on it, and your understanding as we navigate this adjusted pace is truly invaluable.

Thank you again for your wonderful message and for your continued support. We wish you all the best!
